Welcome to WagginTails

WagginTails Dog Grooming is a full service, fun, high end, clean and friendly, cage-free, dog grooming salon located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  We specialize in listening to the wants and needs of our customers and clients.  Our mission is to groom each dog with care and expertise.  We offer breed standard haircuts, customer requested haircuts, loshed treatments, hand stripping, and a la carte services (such as nail grinding).   WagginTails uses only natural shampoo and conditioning products.  We take great strides in making sure that each dog that visits gets a full grooming experience and is happy to come back again and again.

Haircut

Haircuts include nail filing, ear hair removal and cleaning, pad hair removal, anal gland expression, bath with coat conditioner (all natural shampoos and conditioners), hand drying or air drying, brush out (with minimal dematting*), and a full haircut (with a scissor finish) to agreed customer length and style.

Tidy

Tidies include nail filing, ear hair removal and cleaning, pad hair removal, anal gland expression, bath with coat conditioner (all natural shampoos and conditioners), hand drying or air drying, and a brush out (with minimal dematting*).

Loshed

Losheds include nail filing, ear hair removal and cleaning, pad hair removal, anal gland expression, bath with coat conditioner (all natural shampoos and conditioners), hand drying or air drying, and carding (dead hair removal process).

Hand Strip

No longer available.

A La Carte

A La Carte Services are individually priced. Examples are nail filing, anal gland expression, potty path shave, ear removal and cleaning…etcetera.

Retail: Tools and Miscellaneous

We sell most of the tools used by our staff (excluding those that need extensive training for safety). This benefits the dogs, because they become more tolerant of our tools, and it benefits our staff because the whole process becomes less labor intensive.  We also sell some items that we use at home, such as candles, air fresheners and shampoos.

* Dematting can be a painful and injuring process. WagginTails Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse service to any and all dogs that are severly matted AND the owner refuses to agree to shaving (a much safer, but not completely safe process).  A recommendation will be made to either shave the dog, or for the owner to brush at home completely, and bring back the dog for a new agreement on a separately scheduled appointment.
